Hey everyone. I’m 23 years old, and live in London, England. I’ve dealt with binge eating for 8 years, but I’ve never “worn” it because of how much exercise I do.
I’ve also seen some of the best results re:recovery material than any other therapy/help I’ve tried with BoB.
That being said, I’ve had a couple of lapses, and I think I know why.
I remember Kathryn saying not to restrict calories/certain foods throughout the recovery process.
I have certain aesthetic and fitness goals I’d like to achieve (and haven’t been able to for years).
So, restricting foods and calories has been what I’ve done for years.
But, when I started BoB, quitting binging became my full focus. I didn’t count calories, I didn’t deny myself anything, and “putting brain over binge” worked time and time again.
So much so, I went 50 days binge-free (my personal best). After lapsing, I had another 15 days later.
Now, I’m certain this was because I started chasing the aesthetic goal (and calorie counting and only eating certain foods) too soon, replacing the “stop binging at all costs” goal prematurely.
That being said, how long did you wait to start pursuing aesthetic/weight loss goals after recovering from binge eating?
I’d love some advice. The last thing I want is to fall back into binging because I keep getting ahead of myself.
