Day 1 : ✔️ Reason 1 I love not bingeing: waking up the next morning with an empty stomach and satisfaction from not bingeing!

Heyy! I've been keeping up with this forum for quite a while, though I've never posted before.
I'd love to join you Kate in doing this. I also think that the BOB approach is an effective way to stop binge eating, but I haven't been able to stay binge free for longer than a week yet. :/
How should we do this? Try to post every day?

Why the sad/scared emoticon and the question mark, Kate?? Anyway, I'm with you on this bingeless Lent! I don't think I'll be posting every day, but I'll probably check in every couple of days to see how everyone is doing. I reckon posting every day would be good if it motivates you, Naddl!

Haha sorry Charlotte! I put a smiley face and it must have converted into a sad/scary face those emoticons just can't be trusted!! I'm glad that you'll be coming along on our journey! I know that we can do it! My daily posts will probably be short and to the point.. Nothing completely mind blowing in terms of recovery.. So I hope you don't get annoyed by them! Just helps me to check in. Naddl -- Im so glad you're joining me!! I am very confident that this can work. If posting after each day works for you, then we can both definitely do that I like to write a little something else.. Maybe a comment about the day, why I love not bingeing, etc. So you're more than welcome to do the same. I think this will be awesome!!! 40 days is not that long.. We can do it!

Day 3 for me check (I live in Germany) I find what really reduces urges for me is to stay away from refined sugar. Whenever I get a craving for something sweet, I eat a piece of fruit and I'm satisfied.

Day 3 is a ✔️ for me also naddl! Very cool that you are in Germany.. Thinking and praying for you from across the globe! Reason 3 I love not bingeing: Proving people wrong. An acquaintance from high school that has suffered from eating disorders all her life actually just reached out to me today and told me that "she hates to say it but she's accepted that an eating disorder is something that she (and that I) will have to deal with all of my life.. It will never go away." However, when I read her words, I didn't get depressed or overwhelmed. In fact, I felt EMPOWERED. I will NOT let my eating disorder control my life. I will NOT binge eat or even think about it anymore after my recovery. I do not want my life to be controlled by eating disorders. I don't have time for that!!! Quite honestly my life is much BIGGER and much BETTER than binge eating. And that's why the girl from high school is wrong. I know I can and I know I will be FREE. And you know what? I told her that. And that is why I love not binge eating... Beating the odds!

Day 4: check! Thanks so much Kate I totally agree with you. I think you can beat anything if you want it bad enough. Whether it be trying to quit smoking or stopping binge eating.

Thanks kat4! It's nice having other people to check in with. We're all on this journey together. Glad you're getting something from it Day 4 was probably 3/4 of a check haha. I didn't binge eat but I probably over-ate.. I had dinner late and didn't have anything planned which usually leads to bingeing. I definitely ate more than I should but as soon I felted tempted to binge I removed myself from the kitchen and did not respond to my urges. It felt great! I love binge eating because I don't feel desperate to work out a lot or eat less the next day. I can just work out and eat how I want! Excited to start this binge free week!!

Yay, well done Kate! I would even consider that a full check, but it's relative of course. Went to a family party myself yesterday and wonderfully overate a bit on easter eggs. On the ride back that automatic urge came up, but since it was so predictable of my brain (I have a history of bingeing after overeating ánd after family parties), I could consider it as meaningless and harmless and I just forgot about it. A completely new and amazing feeling! Oh and yeah, not having to work out but enjoying it when you feel like and without feeling completely bloated it is pretty wonderful hey? We're doing so well!!!!!!! PS: Where are you from Kate? I live in Belgium

Day 1 for me! I tried starting last week on Ash Wednesday and did fine until Friday. -.- I'm rereading the book and now joined the forum and I'm fully committing to this process as well as my goals for lent. Nice to meet you all. It's good to know I'm not alone and be with others who are succeeding at beating this neurotic habit. <3

Hi charlotte! Well done for you, too!!! Those easter eggs are very easy to overeat.. They are so delicious haha. I am so proud that you didn't let that transition into a binge though. That's such a big accomplishment!!! You should be very proud of yourself! I agree that I definitely get triggered after I overeat or eat unhealthy foods. Your success is inspiring! I'm from the United States. I live in Ohio and attend a university here I will actually be traveling to Europe in two weeks for a school study abroad program... I have never been before! I will be visiting London, Geneva, Munich, Riga, Milan, AND Brussels!!! I am very excited to see Belgium. It's so cool that there are people on this forum from all over the world. So glad you can join us beansies!!! It's ok to have slip ups as long as you get back on the right track.. Which is what you're doing
